Find Infections in Your Digestive Tract

$99
Find out if you have an infection in your digestive tract due to bacteria, parasites, or viruses. Those who are experiencing symptoms such as diarrhea, abdominal cramps, nausea and/or vomiting. If you have loose stool that contains blood or mucus, you should also take this test.

What is the Floré Gastrointestinal Pathogen Test?

The Floré Gastrointestinal Pathogen Test is a multiplexed nucleic acid test intended for the qualitative detection and identification of various pathogenic microbes that may cause gastroenteritis and infectious colitis.

What happens if my results are positive for
an infection?

Confirmed positive results do not rule out co-infection with other organisms that are not detected by this test and may not be the sole or definitive cause of patient illness. Any non-infectious GI issues such as ulcerative colitis, irritable bowel syndrome, or Crohn’s disease are not detectable by this test and the Floré Gastrointestinal Pathogen Test will be negative on these samples.

How Does It Work?

The Floré Gastrointestinal Pathogen Test (GPT) is a qualitative multiplex test that can simultaneously detect and identify multiple bacterial, viral, and parasitic gastrointestinal pathogens from individuals with signs and symptoms of infectious colitis or gastroenteritis. The Floré GPT detects the gastrointestinal pathogen types, subtypes and toxin genes described in the table. It includes a reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) with xTAG universal tag sorting system and a subsequent bead hybridization utilizing the xMAP Technology platform. This is an efficient technology that enables the analyzer to capture and detect specific analytes of all target pathogens from the single sample provided.
